Larry Sherwood

Larry Sherwood began his postproduction career in 1981 at Los Angeles' prestigious post facility, The Post Group. In 1987, Larry was one of the founding members of The Post Group's Non Linear Division called The Film Unit. This means Larry has been working with Digital, Non Linear Editing systems since 1987.

As Editorial Post Supervisor and Staff Editor for The Film Unit, he worked on such projects as the mini-series Lonesome Dove and the feature film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. He also worked on Graffiti Bridge, directed by Prince.

In 1991, Larry became a freelance editor working with Michael Mann on the Emmy Nominated mini series "Drug Wars" as well as an episodic show for Trilogy Productions called "Space Rangers".

Larry left L.A. in 1993 for a better life experience in Austin, Texas. He opened an offline boutique at Metropost/501 Studios and created Sherwood Post Production, working on commercials, music videos and corporate presentations for the Austin market in addition to acting as General Manager for the facility.

In 1995, he edited and post supervised a weekly show for NFL Films/Prime Cable for which he was a finalist for an International Monitor Award for Best Editing in Sports. Larry also worked for Discreet Logic as the Product Specialist for the software he now uses, Discreet Edit. He played a key role in the continued development of this product for 6 years.

Larry edited a 3 hour PBS documentary for Galan Productions in Austin in 2002 which aired on PBS in October 2004. He also edited a mini-series for ESPN called "The Season:Behind Bars" and the NBC Olympics Highlites DVD for HPG Productions in Dallas.

In March of 2003 Larry joined The LBT&J Group Agency providing Production and Post Production services for their commercial spot clients thru July of 2004.
From July 2004 through March 2005 Larry worked with Fountainhead Media, a new Ad Agency in Austin producing and posting local and regional commercials. Since March of 2006, Larry continues to provide consulting services to major manufacturers such as SONY and freelance editing and post production support.
